1. Oversee Import and Export Operations:
- Manage the entire supply chain process for importing raw materials and exporting finished products.
- Ensure that goods are transported efficiently and cost-effectively, while meeting all legal and regulatory requirements.
2. Compliance and Regulatory Management:
- Ensure compliance with international trade laws, tariffs, customs regulations, and import/export documentation.
- Stay updated on the latest regulations, policies, and trade agreements to minimize legal risks.
- Manage and review all customs and export documentation to prevent delays or fines.
3. Supplier and Vendor Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain relationships with international suppliers, shipping companies, and logistics providers.
- Negotiate contracts and terms of delivery, focusing on cost, quality, and timely shipments.
- Evaluate potential suppliers and partners to identify those who can meet the company's needs.
4. Logistics and Inventory Management:
- Oversee logistics operations to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective transportation of materials.

- Develop strategies for improving the efficiency and profitability of the import/export process.

- Identify cost-effective shipping routes and methods to minimize expenses.
6. Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with international shipping, including delays, damage, and theft.
- Manage insurance and claims for goods during transportation.
- Develop contingency plans for potential disruptions in global supply chains (e.g., political instability, natural disasters).
7. Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage the import/export team, setting performance goals and ensuring accountability.
- Provide training and development opportunities for the team to stay informed about new regulations and industry best practices.
- Coordinate cross-departmental efforts between sales, production, logistics, and finance to align on goals and objectives.
8. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of import/export transactions.
- Prepare reports on import/export activities for senior management, including cost analysis, delivery timelines, and any challenges faced.
- Ensure that all regulatory documents (e.g., commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin) are properly filed.
9. International Market Research:
- Analyze global markets for potential growth opportunities, new markets, and emerging trends in the industry.
- Assess the risks and benefits of expanding to new countries or regions and recommend market-entry strategies.
10. Collaboration with Finance Department:
- Work closely with the finance department to ensure that all costs related to import/export activities are accurately documented and within budget.
- Coordinate on the management of foreign exchange, customs duties, taxes, and payment terms.
11. Sustainability and Environmental Considerations:
- Ensure that import/export activities align with environmental and sustainability goals.
- Work towards reducing the company's carbon footprint in logistics operations through greener practices and eco-friendly transportation options.
12. Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve any issues related to shipping delays, customs problems, or other logistical challenges that may arise.
- Ensure that any issues impacting the customer or supply chain are resolved promptly to maintain business continuity.
