POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager, Compliance Knowledge, Training & Communications will provide support
with the development and coordination of Legal, Ethics, and Compliance knowledge
management, training and communications. The Training and Communications Manager is a
legal department position which will report directly to the Global Director, Legal Operations, with a
dotted reporting line to the Deputy Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Training – WSP Employees
• Create and maintain the catalog of legal, privacy, ethics, and regulatory compliance onboarding
training materials for WSP employees, including reviewing existing materials.
• Coordinate the launch of new or updated legal, privacy, ethics, and regulatory compliance
training courses or curricula with global and regional HR, Communications, Ethics and Legal
departments, including online courses launched on Oracle or on regional Learning Management
teams (LMS teams).
• Coordinate the annual development of Code of Conduct refresher training and coordinate the
content development and finalization of all modules, including but not limited to the legal,
privacy, ethics, and compliance functions.
Training – Legal, Ethics, Compliance Employees
• Create framework for a legal function “training academy” for onboarding and regular training of
legal team members across the organization.
• Create and maintain a global database of legal, privacy, ethics, and compliance training
available for the employees in those functions.
• Develop new training academy and related ancillary training materials, as required.
• Support the legal, privacy, ethics and compliance functions with training completion rate
reporting and metrics for both training academy courses as well as company-required courses
assigned to employees in these functions.
• Support and manage the internal CLE/CPE/CEU program including the development of an
annual program for internal presentations on a monthly basis and the maintenance of a calendar
providing information on available, online and in person learning opportunities to maintain their
annual professional obligation to continued learning for legal, ethics, privacy and other similar
professions.
Communication
• Partner with the communications team to develop annual communications plans, particularly for
ethics, compliance, and privacy functions.
• Work closely with global and regional communication teams to create communications, review
communication, and raise awareness on relevant topics.
• Produce documents for communication (presentations, newsletter articles, intranet articles,
etc.).
• Create practical tools and toolkits (flow charts, manager toolkits, etc.) for distribution to middle
management relating to relevant topics in legal, privacy, ethics and compliance.
• Support the implementation of communication plan activities.
• Improve the layout of training, communications, toolkits, and other documents through the
development of templates or consistent program branding (PDF, PowerPoint, Word).
• Coordinate translations and proofreading in any other languages required, including through
use of both translation technology and professional translation services, as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Exceptional skills in oral and written communication
• Exceptional knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel);
• Experience with Microsoft collaboration tools (SharePoint, Teams, Forms) is an asset;
• Experience in a similar position is an asset;
• Experience with online training authoring software (such as Articulate 360) is an asset;
• Experience launching online training as a System Administrator (such as with Oracle Learning)
is an asset;
• Experience using artificial intelligence tools to create or translate content is an asset;
• Experience designing intranet pages (such as with SharePoint or Canopy) is an asset;
• Relevant Diploma (such as Communications, Arts or Business Administration);
• Technical aptitude to learn new applications, as necessary;
• Discretion and professionalism.
LINGUISTIC REQUIREMENTS
• Fluent English
• Knowledge of additional language(s) an asset (such as French or Spanish)
