We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer - Electrical Secondary to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of electrical secondary systems for various projects. You will play a key role in ensuring that all projects meet industry standards, are completed on time, and align with iCRC's mission of delivering quality and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
-Prepare and review substation documentations, for example, protection diagrams, control and interlocking logics, AC and DC drawings, calculations, control and protection panel drawings, IED configurations, cabling and bills of materials.
-Experienced with schematic drawings and identify or locate mistakes, problem solving and conflict resolution, proven technical report generation, communication, customer interface skills multi priority and multi-tasking
-Experienced with Calculations (CT/VT adequacy calculations, LV systems sizing and coordination studies, generator sizing, Battery and chargers sizing, LV cable sizing and voltage drop)
-Prepare project documents in your area of responsibility and deliver within budget, scope, and contract.
-Lead the design and engineering of electrical secondary systems, including protection, control, and communications systems for substations and power distribution systems.
- Develop and review technical specifications, data sheets, and engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical secondary systems into larger projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and engineering evaluations for electrical systems and components.
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements are met and communicated effectively.
- Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and new technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical protection and control schemes, relay settings, and communications protocols.
- Proficient in relevant engineering software and tools for design and simulation (e.g., ETAP, SKM, AutoCAD, DigSILENT, PSCAD)
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on secondary systems for power distribution or substations.
- CEng or equivalent certification preferred.
