Role Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Principal Consultant - Environment Consents to join our dynamic team to work in India but be part of bigger WSP UK Environment Consents team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental regulations, project management, and stakeholder engagement. This leadership role involves guiding clients through the environment consents process, providing strategic advice, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice on environmental regulations and consent requirements to clients, ensuring understanding of compliance obligations.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, stakeholders, and community groups to promote transparency and collaboration throughout the consent process.
- Develop and implement strategies for effective stakeholder engagement and public consultation.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and prepare comprehensive reports detailing findings and recommendations.
- Mentor and lead junior consultants, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
- Monitor and stay updated on changes in UK environmental legislation, policies, and market trends, and advise clients accordingly.
- Contribute to proposal writing & client presentatio
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of [10-12] years of experience in environmental consents, planning, or a related role, with a proven track record of project success.
- In-depth knowledge of UK environmental legislation, regulations, and best practices relevant to consents and compliance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical data and prepare clear reports.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience managing project teams.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Chartered Environmentalist - IEMA) are an asset.
