We are seeking an experienced and motivated Engineer - Highways to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for transportation engineering and a strong background in designing, developing, and maintaining highway infrastructure. This role requires a thorough understanding of engineering principles related to road construction, traffic management, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and analyze highway projects including alignments, sizing, and detailing of roadways and drainage systems.
- Prepare engineering reports, feasibility studies, and technical specifications for highway construction projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, urban planners, and surveyors to ensure integrated planning and execution of projects.
- Conduct field surveys, inspections, and assessments to evaluate existing highway conditions and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental standards.
- Utilize software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) for modeling and drafting highway designs.
- Monitor project progress and performance, identifying any issues and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, contractors, and local authorities to provide updates and manage expectations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of [4-6] years of relevant experience in highway/transportation engineering.
- Strong knowledge of highway design standards, traffic engineering, and environmental regulations.
- Proficiency in engineering design software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
