THE ROLE. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join WiseEnergy Indias Commercial Team to manage: revenues, contracts, insurance, ESG and to provide regulatory and statutory compliance management for solar energy assets in India. This may extend to assets outside of India in time. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.
The Commercial Manager role is a pivotal role in the WiseEnergy India (WEI) team, and responsibilities include:. Management of an experienced Commercial Team (3 FTE / FTC members + 3 part-time local site representatives). Representing Commercial on WiseEnergys India Fund Leadership Team (FLT), alongside the respective Finance and Technical Managers of WiseEnergy India. Working closely with Finance, Technical and Client Managers (meeting weekly) in order to provide excellent asset management services to clients with assets located in India (and potentially internationally overtime).
Involvement in strategic decisions concerning Indian asset management, India/Asia business development and works closely with the Commercial Manager NP III & NP V Lead who has overall responsibility for NP III assets globally. Day to day activities include:. Revenue management:. Management of energy sales (Power Purchase Agreements) with off-takers, interconnection agreements with transmission & distribution companies, coordination with SLDC for forecasting & scheduling obligations to a high degree of accuracy.
Billing of energy and other attributes, collection management and creation of monthly sales reports. Investigating and resolving revenue issues/discrepancies in a timely manner. Regulatory and statutory compliance:. Active monitoring of changes in the regulations of the electricity market in the regions where projects are located and recommending how to comply to clients.
Coordination and liaison with the officials of government and regulatory bodies representing renewable energy market including DISCOMS, KERC, KPTCL, SECI, PSPCL official organizations and offices. Ensure compliance with obligations and reports to official bodies in every region where projects are located. Contract management:. Overall SPV contract management ie renewals, tendering, issuing notices, obligations, etc related to individual solar farm companies.
Management of forecasting and scheduling obligations directly or through consultants, forecasting accuracy monitoring, penalties for deviations, coordination of improvement implementations. Management of land lease agreements, including payments as per the local regulations. Managing contract claims, eg under Share Purchase Agreements or PPAs, and working with external counsel and associated client reporting, as needed. ESG:.
Ensuing successful delivery and compliance with environmental, social, governance (ESG) Action Plan, data collection, reporting and other ESG needs as required. Supervision of Stakeholder Engagement Plan implementation. Smooth management of local community relationships. Insurance:.
Annual renewals and seeking best price/terms. Developing relationships with appointed insurance brokers. Claims notification and management to completion/settlement, as required. Transformation:.
Development and population of relevant information on to the companys in-house asset management platform (AMP). Supporting implementation of new software across the team to drive greater commercial efficiency and risk mitigation. Recommending ways to further improve efficiency and risk mitigation in respect of Commercial asset management (and wider). Manages monthly Commercial reporting to clients with a high degree of accuracy and meets deadlines.
Internal coordination with technical, finance and debt management team and external liaison with consultants and suppliers as required. Ensuring documentation in relation to Commercial management is reviewed, complete and kept up to date. Ad hoc project work related to out of scope commercial activities. Domestic travel in India will be required from time to time and potentially internationally as well.
