Mission of the Role:
As the India HR Head, this role will drive improved business performance across India by strengthening and enabling site leadership to focus on enhancing organization heath/ hygiene and to improve productivity. This leader will lead & align site leadership to build operational capability to strengthen their teams. A key focus will be on strengthening and developing the India HR team to maximize impact and support business growth.
Key Year One Deliverables:
- Achieve Operational Excellence: Streamline HR processes to enhance efficiency, compliance, and consistency across India sites, contributing to seamless, scalable operations that support business growth.
- Optimize span and layers through the India footprint strategy. Co-create the India location strategy for Software that focuses on centralization/ building of talent based on domain capabilities, manager - employee co location effectiveness & optimized cost strategy.
- Elevate performance management: Drive qualitative adoption & measure effectiveness of OKR for India. In addition, establish a mechanism to continuously evaluate & manage out under performers through effective PIPs, to maintain the performance health of the region.
- Tech talent development - Seamless adoption & execution of the programs like Tech ladder 2.0 to identify, engage & assess employees through the bespoke program that will directly impact & elevate software quality as an output.
Talent Acquisition & Retention:
- Drive regional recruitment and retention strategies, emphasizing quality of hire, diversity, and internal mobility. Ensure high-performing and high-potential employees are supported and positioned for growth within the organization.
Key Objectives of this Role:
- Drive Business Impact: Align HR initiatives directly with business growth and performance objectives across India, ensuring that all talent strategies strengthen the region's competitive position and deliver measurable results.
- HR Team Development: Lead & Mentor the HR team to ensure a high level of operational effectiveness & efficiency. Act as a mentor and coach to support team members in reaching their full potential and driving continuous improvement.
- Leadership & Strategy: Serve as a key advisor to the executive team on HR matters, providing insights on workforce planning, organizational culture & employee relations.
- Employee relations & engagement: Address employee concerns, grievances & performance issues in a timely manner. Implement employee engagement programs & assess employee satisfaction regularly to improve retention.
- Compensation & benefits: Ensure compliance with local labour laws regarding compensation, benefits & employment practices.
- Influence and Advocacy: Demonstrate the ability to influence key stakeholders, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams, to drive alignment and ensure successful implementation of HR strategies across the region. Build strong relationships with local authorities and external partners to support organizational objectives.
- Lead & manage the Full Employee Lifecycle (ELC) activities (Onboarding, promotion, exit, retention discussions, performance management , compensation & pay planning cycles )
Key Performance Indicators:
- Increased operational efficiency on HR process & optimize HC management through location strategy.
- Increased leadership capability within the region. Retention of high-potential and high-performing employees.
- Internal mobility rates.
- Improvement in employee engagement and eNPS.
- Budget adherence.
Qualification, Experience and Skills:
- 15+ years of HR leadership experience in a complex, matrixed organization, with a strong track record of delivering business outcomes.
- High levels of business acumen with strategic, financial, and operational insight.
- Proficiency in analyzing talent and business metrics and translating them into compelling narratives for leaders.
- Bachelor's degree in business, HR, or a related field; experience outside HR is highly valued.
