Purpose of Role: Seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Officer - Costing to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting within an engineering manufacturing environment and be proficient in SAP.
This role involves analyzing and managing costs to ensure the financial efficiency of our manufacturing processes. You will need to have demonstrated experience in cost reduction initiatives and process improvements, as well as knowledge with lean manufacturing principles.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Analysis: Analyse and review plant operational costs, including raw materials, labour, and overhead.
Variance Analysis: Analyse Production variance, Purchase Price Variance, Gross Margins and explaining variances between actual and standard costs.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, including standard product cost development and cost centre budgeting.
Product Costing: Estimating costs for existing, new, and proposed products.
Inventory Management: Supervise physical inventory counts and cycle counts, ensuring accuracy in inventory records.
SAP Utilization: Utilize SAP for cost accounting activities, including data entry, report generation, and variance analysis.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls and Cost Accounting Record Rules (CARR) and Cost Audit Report Rules.
Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management, highlighting key cost drivers and areas for improvement.
Collaboration: Work closely with the manufacturing, Engineering and supply chain teams to provide cost-related support and insights.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering or a related field. CMA certification is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years of cost accounting experience in an engineering manufacturing environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
