Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the costing system for raw materials, labour, and overhead costs specific to steel production processes.
Analyse and report on production cost variances, including direct materials, labour, and overheads.
Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes for cost accounts.
Prepare and present detailed monthly cost reports, including cost variance analysis, margin reports, and product costing.
Provide cost data for budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Oversee inventory valuation, ensuring proper recording and reconciliation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
Ensure that the inventory costing methods (e.g., FIFO, LIFO, weighted average) are appropriately applied.
Continuously assess and improve cost control processes and methodologies.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory standards related to costing and inventory management.
Educational Background:
Education & Experiences:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional qualification such as CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) or ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) is highly desirable.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a costing or management accounting role, with at least 3 years in the manufacturing industry (preferably in steel, metal, or heavy industries).
