Position Overview:

This role demands a hands-on, visionary leader with a strong full-stack engineering background and proven experience in scaling innovative SaaS platforms.

As the Head of Engineering, you will oversee the architecture and development of our platform while fostering a high-impact engineering culture. You'll lead a team of 25+ engineers, optimize our technical infrastructure, drive cost-effective innovation, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver exceptional value to our enterprise customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership:

- Define and execute the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for Saltmine's cutting-edge SaaS platform.

- Make cost-aware architectural decisions and optimize cloud infrastructure for scalability and reliability.

- Design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance systems with a focus on spatial data processing and AI/ML integration.

- Champion engineering best practices, ensuring technical excellence while managing operational costs.

- Drive innovation in data engineering and AI/ML pipelines, leveraging advanced tools and frameworks to process complex spatial data.

- Ensure the platform adheres to enterprise-grade security, performance, and compliance standards.

Team Leadership & Culture Building

- Build, mentor, and scale a world-class engineering team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.

- Establish a metrics-driven engineering culture focused on innovation, quality, and delivery.

- Lead multiple cross-functional squads, ensuring alignment with product and business objectives.

- Drive process optimization to improve development velocity, system reliability, and operational efficiency.

- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and engineering excellence.

Operational Management

- Manage engineering budgets and resource allocation, balancing innovation with cost efficiency.

- Define and track KPIs for development velocity, system reliability, and infrastructure performance.

- Implement robust DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud optimizations to support business growth.

- Collaborate with the product and leadership teams to align engineering goals with broader business objectives.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a premier institute.

- 10-15 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles managing high-performing teams.

- Hands-on expertise in full-stack development using technologies like React, Node.js, and TypeScript.

- Proven experience building and scaling enterprise SaaS products in startups or fast-paced environments.

- Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure optimization, cost management, and scalable architecture design.

- Strong expertise in system design, performance optimization, and enterprise-grade scalability.

- Experience leading 3+ cross-functional squads, delivering results across multiple projects.

- Solid understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code practices.

- Proven ability to set and achieve clear KPIs for system reliability, development velocity, and team performance.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with 3D/CAD systems and spatial data processing.

- Expertise in AI/ML integration for enterprise platforms.

- Prior success in scaling early-stage startups while managing growth efficiently.
