Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager - Legal / Legal Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling banking legal cases, liaising with local police stations, and managing repossession cases. This role offers significant challenges and growth potential for the right individual.
Handling Banking Legal Cases:
- Manage a diverse portfolio of banking legal cases, including civil litigation, recovery, and compliance matters.
- Ensure all legal actions are conducted in compliance with relevant laws and company policies.
- Liaison with Local Authorities:
- Effectively communicate and liaise with local police stations to facilitate investigations and resolve legal issues promptly.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel as necessary for legal proceedings.
- Repossession Case Management:
- Oversee repossession cases, ensuring legal requirements and company policies are adhered to throughout the process.
- Handle negotiations and settlements related to repossessions.
- Legal Advisory and Documentation:
- Provide legal advice and support to various departments within the organization.
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, contracts, and agreements.
- Legal Compliance and Knowledge Management:
- Stay updated with relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting the banking sector.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support business decisions and mitigate risks.
- Representation and Relationship Management:
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and meetings.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory authorities.
- Qualifications:
- Law degree from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
- Proven track record of successfully handling banking legal cases, including repossession cases.
- Strong knowledge of banking laws, regulations, and legal procedures.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
