Role & responsibilities

Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

The Superintending Engineer (Civil) will lead, plan, design and oversee small to large-scale civil

engineering projects, Expansion projects, Modifications projects, ensuring adherence to quality,

timelines, and budgetary constraints. The role demands expertise in detailed planning, conceptual design, budgeting, and project execution, ensuring that all corporate infrastructure projects align with organizational goals and regulatory standards.

Strategic Planning & Concept Development:

Preparation /review of project concept notes, feasibility studies, and strategic plans for

corporate infrastructure projects.

Review of conceptual layouts for Facility, Civil work/modifications, expansions, plumbing,

water proofing, furniture, partitions, Glazing, Structures, Clean Rooms/False Ceilings (but

not limited to).

Develop and review master plans, ensuring alignment with organizational growth and

sustainability goals.

Evaluate project requirements and propose innovative, cost-effective, and efficient

solutions.

Project Design & Technical Oversight:

Preparation of Bar Chart/Gantt Chart with Macro, Micro planning and deep assessment

keeping in view the timeline of project.

Oversee the development of architectural and structural designs, ensuring compliance with

industry standards and safety regulations.

Review of Facility Layouts.

Preparation/review/assessment of Bill of Quantities (BOQs) for all project components,

ensuring accuracy and cost-effectiveness

Review detailed engineering drawings and BOQ for Civil work/modifications, expansions,

plumbing, water proofing, furniture, partitions, Glazing, Structures, Clean Rooms/False

Ceilings (but not limited to).

Collaborate with architects, consultants, and contra ctors during the design and planning

phases.

Budgeting & Cost Management:

Ensure all technical specifications are met and that designs are optimized for functionality,

sustainability, and energy efficiency.

Prepare detailed project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts.

Monitor project expenditures to ensure adherence to approved budgets.

Conduct budget estimations and ensure project costs align with organizational financial

goals and Mission.

Implement cost control measures and identify opportunities for cost savings without

compromising quality.

Project Execution & Quality Control:

Assess potential long-term savings from energy-efficient solutions and integrate them into

budget plans.

Arrange and participate in kick-off meetings to align all stakeholders.

Review and approve GFC (G00d for Construction) and Shop Drawings for Civil

Work/modifications, expansions work, plumbing, water proofing, furniture, partitions,

Glazing, Structures, Clean Rooms/False Ceilings (but not limited to)

Oversee the execution and commissioning of projects as per construction drawings.

Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure compllances with approved

designs and specifications.

Manage site projects during execution and track timelines.

Support the qualification/validation for facility qualification.

Implement energy-efficient construction practices and monitor energy usage during project

execution.

Compliance & Risk Management:

Ensure all projects comply with local regulations, building codes, and environmental

standards.

ldentify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Ensure adherence to safety protocols and promote a culture of safety across all project sites.

Ensure compliance with energy efficiency regulations and promote environmentally

sustainable practices.

Team Leadership & Coordination:

Lead and mentor a team of engineers, project managers, site supervisors and technical staff.

Coordinate with internal departments, external stakeholders, consultants, site engineers,

vendors, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project execution.

Expedite purchase requirements, purchase orders, and project-related payments as defined.

Foster a colaborative work environment and encourage continuous learning and

professional development.

Reporting & Documentation:

Prepare and present regular, timely, and accurate project progress reports, including

timelines, budget status, and key milestones, to senior management.

Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, permits, design files, .

progress reports, Work Schedule, Bar/Gantt Chart, Site visit report (but not limited to)

Include energy consumption data and efficiency reports in project documentation.

Follow up and coordinate project-related issues on a day-to- day basis, interacting with all

relevant stakeholders.
