Role & responsibilities
The Superintending Engineer (Electrical) will lead, plan, design, and oversee small to large-scale
electrical engineering projects, including expansion, modifications, and energy optimization
projects. The role demands expertise in conceptual design, strategic planning, budgeting, and
project execution while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with pharmaceutical industry
standards and regulatory requirement.
Strategic Planning &Concept Development:
1. Lead the preparation and review of project basis of design, feasibility studies, and strategic
plans for electrical systems in corporate infrastructure.
2. Review and approve electrical layouts for Facility, Utility, HVAC, Clean Rooms, and Process
Equipment.
3. Develop master plans for electrical distribution systems aligned with organizational growth
and energy efficiency goals.
4. Evaluate project requirements and propose innovative, cost-effective electrical solutions.
5. Integrate energy-saving technologies into project designs.
6. Prepare Bar Chart/Gantt Chart for macro and micro-level planning of electrical project.
Project Design &Technical Oversight:
1. Oversee the design and review of HT/LT power distribution systems, substations,
transformers, DG sets, UPS, and renewable energy sources.
2. Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for electrical works, ensuring accuracy and
cost-effectiveness.
3. Evaluate and approve electrical layouts for lighting, fire alarm systerms, security, pr0cess
equipment, HVAC control panels, and cleanroom requirements.
4. Ensure electrical designs adhere to pharma industry standards, GMP, and energy efficiency
protocols.
Budgeting & Cost Management:
Collaborate with architects, MEP consultants, and contractors during project planning and
execution.
Monitor project expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
Prepare detailed project budgets, cost estimates, and financial forecasts for all electrical
works.
Implement cost-control measures and explore opportunities for energy savings and long
term cost reduction.
Assess potential ROl on energy-efficient upgrades.
Project Execution & Quality Control:
1. Lead kick-off meetings and coordinate with cross-functional teams to align project goals.
2. Review and approve GFC (Good for Construction) drawings for electrical systems and
infrastructure.
3. Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
4, Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards, GMP guidelines, and
technical specifications.
Oversee facility validation, qualification of electrical systems, and support audits.
