Senior Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant with 5+ years of professional expertise in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and driving financial efficiency. The ideal candidate will play a key role in overseeing financial reporting, tax compliance, and contributing to strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management and Reporting:
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Develop, monitor, and manage budgets in collaboration with department heads.
• Provide financial forecasts and insights to aid strategic planning.
3. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
• Oversee the accounts payable/receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
4. Tax Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and timely filing of returns (GST, VAT, TDS, etc.).
• Assist in managing audits and liaise with external auditors and tax authorities.
5. Internal Controls:
• Develop and implement internal financial controls and policies to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
• Monitor adherence to accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
6. Team Collaboration:
• Supervise and mentor junior accountants.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial guidance.
7. Process Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.
• Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and best practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or CA certification preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Tally) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations (IFRS/GAAP).
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
