Job Description
We have monitoring tools support/engineer requirement. Something on these lines below (at least 1 or 2 tools from the highlighted portion below):
Additional EA Specific:
Monitoring Systems administration, setup, maintenance and support (all environments)
Design, build and maintain monitoring NRPE packages and plugins
Data Analysis and Reporting from different tools: Event Manager, Telegraph, SevOne, Opsview/NRPE, Graphite/Grafana, ServiceNow
Project Management: Jira
Task Management: ServiceNow
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist NOC
o Troubleshot issues (e.g. Bulk alerts),
o Event Notifications Workflows Investigation
o Systems Monitoring Environment Service check updates
o Enable critical services in monitoring
o Update Service check thresholds
o Troubleshoot and fix monitoring applications errors
o NRPE Package installation and /or troubleshooting
Reporting and Data Analytics:
o Daily, weekly, monthly alert levels (Events Created, correlated, suppressed, notifications created from all events, etc.)
o Task Tracking and Management
Drive JointOps
o Automations
o Notification Updates
o Major Incident task tracking
o Processes reviews and updates
o RCA\s
o Escalate issues accordingly to Linux, VMWare, Network and DBA Operations and coordinate solutions
Production Support and Internal JointOps
o Task Tracking and Queue management for Incidents, Requests, Change Tasks and Major Incidents
o Coordination with Dev team on updates and escalations
o Updates to configurations, health-checks, policies within core services
o Ensure technical documentation is kept up to date (run books, process diagrams, system information, technical documents)
o Coordinate with Unix/Linux, Windows, IT-NOC support teams to facilitate, analyze, testing and deployment of OS security patches.
o Coordinate implementations to production of new monitoring and data analysis solutions (Operation readiness compliance/Launch readiness for new service updates).
