Junior Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our growing team. As a Junior QA, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of our software applications. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and senior QA engineers to identify bugs, track defects, and contribute to the overall product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the development and product teams to understand the software requirements and user stories.
• Execute manual test cases to identify and report defects, ensuring high-quality product delivery.
• Write and maintain clear and detailed bug reports and track them through to resolution.
• Participate in sprint planning, review, and retrospectives to ensure continuous improvement in testing processes.
• Assist in creating and updating test cases and test plans.
• Perform regression testing, functional testing, and other types of testing as required.
• Contribute to the automation test strategy (if applicable) and assist in writing basic automated tests.
• Monitor product quality and ensure that issues are communicated effectively to the development team.
• Stay current on industry best practices and new testing tools/technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• Basic understanding of software testing principles and QA methodologies.
• Familiarity with manual testing tools and techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to learn new technologies and testing tools.
• Experience with bug tracking systems (e.g., JIRA) is a plus.
• Experience in testing web or mobile applications is a plus.

Nice to Have:

• Basic knowledge of test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress) or scripting languages (e.g., Python,Java, JavaScript) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Experience with performance or load testing is a bonus.
