Role & responsibilities

1. Innovative Product Development:

• Create new products/finishes and performance-driven textiles that align with global market trends and customer demands.
• Develop functional textiles with advanced properties, such as moisture-wicking, antimicrobial, flame-retardant, temperature-regulating capabilities, etc.

2. Sustainability Initiatives:

• Innovate eco-friendly fabrics using recycled, organic, biodegradable, sustainable materials.
• Introduce resource-efficient dyeing and finishing techniques to minimize environmental impact.
• Support closed-loop systems to promote zero waste and circularity in textile production.

3. Collaboration with Spinning Units:

• Work with spinning units to address chronic challenges faced by the fabric business, such as strength inconsistencies, contamination levels, and fabric appearance issues.
• Jointly develop innovative yarns and blends to enhance the quality and performance of specific fabrics.
• Explore fiber and yarn innovations to achieve cost optimization without compromising quality.
• Facilitate cross-functional projects with spinning, weaving, and processing departments to create value-added products.

4. Collaborative Industry Projects:

• Partner with fiber and filament manufacturers for unique blend developments and advanced yarn structures.
• Collaborate with dye and chemical manufacturers to introduce cutting-edge finishing solutions.
• Engage with educational institutes and research organizations to exchange knowledge and accelerate innovation.
• Participate in joint projects with global brands to co-create exclusive, high-value products.

5. Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:

• Take up projects to resolve recurring issues in specific fabrics, such as color fastness, pilling, or performance inconsistencies.
• Conduct root-cause analysis and implement solutions to improve process stability and end-product reliability.

6. Market Intelligence:

• Continuously monitor and analyze global fashion and textile trends to anticipate and address emerging customer needs.
• Build a repository of insights into materials, processes, and innovations to guide future projects.

Qualification: M. Tech (Textiles)

Experience: 6-10 years

Level: Assistant Manager (M1)
