Job Description

Role Overview:
The Independent Director Sales and Marketing will provide expert strategic advice and guidance to our leadership team, ensuring our sales and marketing strategies are innovative, effective, and aligned with the company’s objectives. This position requires a deep understanding of the solar energy market, customer acquisition, brand development, and sales growth. You will play a key role in shaping the company’s approach to market expansion and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer high-level strategic oversight and independent counsel to the sales and marketing teams.
  • Help define and implement marketing strategies to enhance brand awareness and market presence in the solar energy sector.
  • Advise on business development opportunities, helping the company identify and target new markets and customer segments.
  • Guide the development of digital and traditional marketing strategies, including online campaigns, content creation, public relations, and customer engagement efforts.
  • Provide expertise in building and sustaining customer relationships, including with government agencies, corporations, and commercial enterprises.
  • Oversee and evaluate sales performance metrics, ensuring that goals for revenue generation and market penetration are met.
  • Advise on pricing strategies, market positioning, and competitive analysis in the renewable energy sector.
  • Work closely with the board and executive team to ensure alignment between the company’s sales and marketing strategies and its overall business goals.
  • Support the development of partnerships and collaborations with other industry leaders, vendors, and stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in sales and marketing leadership, preferably in the renewable energy, clean technology, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of the solar energy market, including trends, customer needs, and regulatory landscapes.
  • Expertise in developing and executing marketing and sales strategies to drive growth, brand visibility, and customer acquisition.
  • Experience in overseeing digital marketing, media relations, brand development, and market analysis.
  • Ability to provide independent, unbiased advice on strategic decisions, while offering practical solutions to real-world challenges.
  • A track record of leadership and collaborative decision-making at the board level, with the ability to influence senior executives.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with a focus on clear and concise reporting to both the board and management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background in energy, sustainability, or environmental science is a plus.
  • Experience in managing sales teams, customer service, and lead generation within the clean energy sector.
  • Understanding of financials related to sales, marketing, and customer acquisition in the renewable energy industry.Role & responsibilities
