Job Overview

The SAP BI Developer-BW/Datasphere/BOBJ Developer will develop enhancements, create new applications, and support Valvoline s application portfolio by working with a comprehensive set of technologies to best serve use cases. Responsibilities will include gathering requirements, estimating, designing, testing, modifying, and implementing new or existing solutions in the reports. Troubleshooting issues that arise within the reports, tools, or architecture used to create the reports. Interacting with business partners to outline their requirements during the development phase to ensure accuracy and delivery of those recorded requirements

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

System Development/Maintenance:

Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining BusinessObjects reports, universes, and dashboards to support business requirements.

Responsible for creating, managing, and deactivating user accounts. Also, responsible for assigning and managing roles and permissions to ensure appropriate user access levels.

Responsible for migrating changes to higher environments.

Responsible for developing data Pipeline, integrating data, managing databases, and performing optimization activities.

Participate in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to reports, universes, and data sources.

Stay updated on the latest SAP BI technology and best practices to continually enhance reporting capabilities and efficiency.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with proficiency in SQL and experience with SAP BI tools.

Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts

Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with cross-functional teams.

Adhere to established standards, guidelines, and methodologies.

System Performance & Health Monitoring

Hands on experience with BOBJ, Datasphere and SAC monitoring is a plus

Experience with basic BIP administration is a plus.

Hands-on application development in BW, Datasphere and SAP Business Objects suite.

Knowledge of SAP Business Objects reporting and analysis tools, including Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, and Analysis for MS Office, is required. Proven knowledge of visualizations, reporting, and analytics using the SAP BI/BO suite of tools is also required.

Hands on experience with semantic layer/universe design and development using IDT.

A very good understanding on Data Visualization best practices.

Researching data acquisition opportunities & developing application programming interfaces (APIs) to retrieve data.

Perform maintenance, and configuration changes to existing applications where appropriate and whenever required

Innovation and Research:

Keep abreast of the latest trends in data science and technology. Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance data utilization.

Data Governance:

Participate in establishing data governance frameworks, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, consistency, and security.

Minimum Requirements:

3 to 6 years experience in SAP BI development experience, preferably in BW and/or HANA and SQL data sources, are preferred.

Knowledge of SAP BusinessObjects reporting and analysis tools, including Web Intelligence, Crystal Reports, and Analysis for MS Office, is preferred
