Job Description:

- As a Direct Tax Manager, you will be responsible for leading the company's direct tax compliance and strategy.

- Your role will encompass managing tax filings, audits, and assessments while providing strategic insights to optimize tax liabilities and ensure compliance with evolving regulations.

Key Responsibilities:.

Tax Compliance and Filing:.

- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of corporate income tax returns, advance tax payments, and other statutory filings.

- Ensure compliance with all direct tax laws, amendments, and industry-specific regulations.

Tax Strategy and Planning:.

- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize tax liabilities.

- Provide strategic tax advisory for mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions.

Audit and Representation:.

- Manage tax audits, assessments, and interactions with tax authorities.

- Prepare documentation and responses for scrutiny, appeals, and litigation.

Risk Management:.

- Identify and mitigate tax risks by implementing robust processes and controls.

- Ensure the organization is well-prepared for changes in tax legislation and rulings.

Team Leadership:.

- Lead and mentor the tax team, ensuring high performance and professional growth.

- Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants to achieve compliance and efficiency.

Reporting and Analysis:.

- Prepare and present tax reports and insights to senior management.

- Analyze and communicate the impact of tax changes on business operations.

Qualifications and Skills:.

- Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent qualification is mandatory.

- 7+ years of experience in direct tax, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, preferably in the automotive industry.

- Comprehensive knowledge of direct tax laws, international tax treaties, and compliance procedures.

- Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems like SAP.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
