Operational Risk - Manager/ Deputy Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Responsible to identify and evaluate operational risks arising for new processes, regulatory and thematic risks, and assist in the implementation of appropriate controls to mitigate these risks in Bank.
• Have a clear understanding of Vendor Outsourcing on a centralized platform and Business Continuity in Banking parlance from the Corporate Office perspective.
• To have knowledge of creation of RCMs, RCSA testing, Scenario Analysis and Loss Data.
• Responsible for ensuring the quality of information recorded in the risk tracking system, as well as ensuring accuracy, completeness of data, driving the timely resolution of outstanding actions
• Responsible for supporting Operations in minimizing operational risks and losses, and ensuring material operational losses are investigated to prevent recurrence
• Identify non-standard processes and recommend appropriate control mechanisms.
• Responsible for ensuring Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is completed by process owners for key risk events.
• Review audit findings and key themes to achieve resolution in line with operational risk appetite.
• Responsible to visit 2 to 3 branches / Vendor locations for Risk Assessment on every month.
• Provide guidance on any operational risk remediation with support from OR Head and respective risk owners
• Senior experience in institutional operational risk assessment, including policy setting and governance.
• 6 plus years of experience in Banking (preferably Risk).

Good knowledge of industries/sectors

• Leading and supervising Technical Competencies:
• Advanced analytical skills as well as a thorough understanding of banking laws, regulation, and policies and the ability to apply and explain complex regulatory, financial, and analytical concepts
• Sound knowledge of Banking Operations and related operational risk areas & control mechanism Be able to identify weaknesses in Banks systems, as well as the causes of the identified weaknesses
