Merchandiser For USHA's Haberdashery STORE at Mumbai

Expectations from the Role / Job :

1. Merchandising Strategy Execution :-

• Execute product assortments that meet customer preferences and market demand.
• Analyze sales performance and market trends to identify opportunities for product development and range expansion.
• Support brand head with monthly brand/product launches as per marketing calendar.

2. Supplier and Vendor Management :-

• Negotiate terms with suppliers, including pricing, delivery schedules, and quality standards.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure consistent product availability.
• Creating analytical justifications for approval on purchases.

3. Inventory and Stock Management :-

• Forecast demand and plan stock levels to prevent overstocking or understocking.
• Monitor stock turnover and implement strategies to optimize inventory levels.
• Execute bi-annual PSV/Stock Take in coordination with all other departments involved.
• Sourcing local market products to meet immediate customer requirements.
• Following SOPs set for all procedural requirements.

4. Performance Monitoring:-

• Track key performance indicators (KPIs), including sell-through rates and gross margin.
• Use data insights to refine strategies and improve overall performance.
• Weekly/Monthly reporting (WSSI, delivery tracker, OTB, etc) & analysis to ensure market responsiveness.
• Manage SAP for the brand for all errors and accounts requirements.

Key Decisions this job will facilitate:

• Deciding which products to include in the range based on customer preferences, market trends, and historical sales data.
• Selecting and negotiating with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of products.

Relevant Experience:

• Proven experience as a merchandiser or in a similar role, typically 35 years.
• Strong knowledge of retail trends, consumer behaviour, and supply chain management

Technical Skills:

• Formal training or exposure in merchandising software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP/POS systems, Excel, or inventory management software). SAP training or exposure to SAP is an advantage.
• Data analysis and forecasting skills to interpret sales trends and optimize inventory levels.
• Understanding of retail math, including gross margins, sell-through rates, and stock-to-sales ratios.
• Expertise in pricing strategies, product lifecycle management, and inventory turnover analysis.
• Vendor and supplier negotiation skills to secure favourable terms.
• Proficiency in visual merchandising techniques to drive customer engagement.
