Role Overview Description
Engineering Manager - Gen Ai
Exotel is the emerging marketâs leading full-stack customer engagement platform and business-focused virtual telecom operator. Exotel has also recently received a virtual telecom operator licence to offer cost-effective end-to-end VoIP telephony services, making the company a 100% compliant cloud calling operator. Roles and Responsibilities
â Build and mentor a team of engineers
â Create an environment and culture where efficiency and innovation thrive
â Manage learning and development of team members
â Work with stakeholders (Business owners, Product managers, Architects) to identify objectives for the team and deliver outcomes
â Work with Product managers for functional roadmap and requirements
â Work with Architects for non-functional requirements
â Liaise with all stakeholders on priorities and timelines
â Own up delivery - guide the team to deliver
â Translate engineering roadmap into executable internal projects, and own the end-to-end execution of these projects
â Track and report engineering health metrics (such as bugs by severity, production incidents, etc.)
â Ensure quality through processes (Review code, test plans, and deployment plans)
Must-haves
â 8-10+ years of experience with a Bachelor / Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
â Experience in the development of some of the backend/platform components or systems, REST API, client libraries, Front end etc.
â Proven track record in leading the development of high-complexity software with demonstrable outcomes
â 1-2+ years of experience in building/managing a high-performance team
â Capability and intent of taking end-to-end ownership
â Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Good-to-haves
â Experience with Gen-AI technologies
â Experience with cloud deployments (distributed and scalable systems) and DevOps as a culture environment
