Senior Quality Assurance Engineer - Automation Testing (3-8 yrs)

About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior QA Engineer to lead our entire Quality Assurance process, both automation and manual, from scratch.

As a Senior QA, you will collaborate closely with the Engineering Manager to define and implement our QA strategy.

You will manage the QA team, streamline processes, and ensure that our products meet the highest quality standards before release.

You must have a solid technical background, leadership capabilities, and be passionate about delivering robust, high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive QA strategy covering both manual and automated testing.

- Build the automation testing framework from scratch, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and robustness.

- Define, document, and enforce QA best practices, guidelines, and processes.

- Lead the manual QA process for testing features that cannot be automated, ensuring thorough coverage.

- Manage, mentor, and grow the QA team to improve skill sets and ensure they follow the best practices.

- Collaborate with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to create test plans, test cases, and testing schedules.

- Ensure timely and accurate execution of test plans, test cases, and regression testing.

- Monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.

- Define and track quality metrics, and KPIs, and improve overall QA processes to ensure the highest product quality.

- Advocate for quality across all areas of the business, pushing for process improvements and innovation in testing approaches.

- Oversee defect tracking and bug resolution processes, working closely with the development team to ensure issues are promptly addressed.

- Drive continuous improvement in test automation coverage, tools, and processes.

- Ensure that the QA team adheres to project timelines and meets deadlines, managing risks effectively.

- Report regularly on QA metrics, progress, and status to the Engineering Manager and leadership.

- Lead and perform performance testing and benchmarking to ensure system stability and scalability under high load conditions.

- Analyze and interpret performance test results, identify bottlenecks, and work closely with the development team to resolve performance-related issues.

- Develop and maintain performance test scripts and integrate performance testing into the CI/CD pipeline.

Qualifications :

- 5-6 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with a strong background in both manual and automation testing.

- Proven experience building QA automation frameworks from scratch and scaling them across multiple teams and projects.

- Expertise with automation tools like Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.

- Strong experience with API testing, CI/CD pipelines, and version control tools such as Git.

- Solid experience with scripting languages like Java, Python, or JavaScript.

- Excellent knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies.

- Extensive experience in performance testing and benchmarking using tools like JMeter, Gatling, or LoadRunner.

- Deep understanding of system performance metrics, including latency, throughput, and resource utilization.

- Proven track record of diagnosing, troubleshooting, and optimizing system performance in both pre-production and production environments.

- Experience with performance, load, and stress testing.

- Proven ability to lead a QA team, mentor junior members, and foster a collaborative work environment.

- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines.

- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and articulate QA goals and strategies.

Nice to Have :

- Experience in mobile testing (iOS/Android).

- Experience with cloud-based testing platforms and tools.

- Certifications in QA or automation (e., ISTQB, CSTE, CSQA).
