Job Description

The Operations Executive is responsible for supporting the smooth and efficient operation of a manufacturing and electrical plant. This includes overseeing production schedules, managing daily operational activities, optimizing plant processes, ensuring safety compliance, and coordinating between departments to meet production goals. The Operations Executive will assist in managing resources, improving efficiency, and contributing to cost control and quality standards within the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning & Coordination:

  • Assist in the development and execution of production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Coordinate with the production, engineering, and quality teams to optimize production flow and reduce downtime.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Ensure that all production activities are aligned with customer demands, and adjust plans as necessary to meet deadlines.

2. Process Optimization:

  • Support the continuous improvement initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes and increase operational efficiency.
  • Identify areas for improvement in production processes and work with management to implement solutions.
  • Assist in the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, such as waste reduction, process standardization, and workflow optimization.

3. Resource & Inventory Management:

  • Oversee the proper management and allocation of plant resources, including materials, equipment, and manpower.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supply of materials for production, minimizing shortages or overstock situations.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and supplies.

4. Quality Control & Compliance:

  • Ensure that the plant's operations meet all regulatory and quality standards, including safety and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor product quality during manufacturing and assist in troubleshooting quality-related issues.
  • Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure that all products meet the required specifications before shipment.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO, safety, and other relevant standards to maintain high-quality production.

5. Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE):

  • Enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Monitor the plant's operations to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Support in conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Lead by example, promoting a culture of safety and proactive incident prevention.

6. Reporting & Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of daily operations, production data, and equipment maintenance.
  • Prepare and present reports on plant performance, including production efficiency, downtime, and quality issues to senior management.
  • Assist in the preparation of operational documentation, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

7. Team Collaboration & Support:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (production, maintenance, quality, HR) to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Act as a liaison between departments to ensure timely flow of information and resolution of operational challenges.
  • Provide support to the plant management team in decision-making and strategic planning.

8. Cost Management & Efficiency:

  • Assist in managing the operational budget and track expenses related to plant operations.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities, including reducing waste, optimizing resource usage, and improving efficiency.
  • Support the efforts to reduce production costs while maintaining product quality and safety standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications or training in operations management, lean manufacturing, or production planning are a plus.

Experience:

  • 2-4 years of experience in an operations role within a manufacturing or electrical plant environment.
  • Hands-on experience in managing production schedules, coordinating resources, and ensuring plant efficiency.
  • Knowledge of electrical plant operations, including machinery, equipment, and safety protocols, is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, machinery, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with production planning tools and manufacturing management software (e.g., ERP systems).
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Strong communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams, management, and external suppliers.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Other Skills:

  • Knowledge of quality control processes and relevant industry certifications (e.g., ISO).
  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to manufacturing plants.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while ensuring quality standards are maintained.

Working Conditions:

  • The position will be based on-site at the manufacturing and electrical plant.
  • This role may require occasional overtime or weekend work to meet production deadlines.
  • The work environment may involve exposure to plant machinery, electrical systems, and physical tasks related to manufacturing operations.
  • Occasional travel may be required for site visits, supplier meetings, or training.
