Senior Full-Stack Engineer (Back-End-Heavy)

• Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders within Engineering (Frontend, UX, etc.) to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment
• Provide mentorship for all Engineers on the team to help them grow in their technical responsibilities and remove blockers
• Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance that have a particular impact across the team
• Solve high-value technical problems and contribute to the overall business objectives and long-range goals
• Ensure the definition and improvement of internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale web environment
• Maintain and advocate for high standards through code reviews
• Advocate for innovations and willingly experiment and confront problems of enormous complexity and scope
• Actively seek out difficult impediments to the team's efficiency
• Propose and implement solutions that enable faster iterations
• Conduct code reviews and ensure community contributions receive a swift response
• Confidently ship significant features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on larger projects and write clean reusable interfaces

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor s/Master s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 6+ years of overall experience in engineering roles with increasing responsibility
• 4+ years of experience with Golang
• Experience working with AWS and SQL/NoSQL databases
• Ability to write complex queries and optimize them (preferably PostgreSQL/DynamoDB)
• Strong background in building distributed systems using Java or other object-oriented languages such as C#, C++, Python, or Golang
• Understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, RKT, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Basic experience with CI/CD systems and shipping high-value features quickly
• Demonstrated skills in communicating clearly and concisely about complex, technical, architectural, and organizational problems, while proposing iterative solutions
• Competency in performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to diagnose and prevent them
• Expertise in implementing outstanding software design patterns, coupled with a healthy passion for refactoring and keeping things simple
• Have a keen commitment to test-driven development, building and leveraging mid-tier services
• Prior experience with open source and developer tools is nice to have
• Nice to have an understanding of concepts like concurrency and reactive programming
• Familiarity with microservices is desirable
• Nice to have some experience working with a global or otherwise multicultural team
• Previous experience in a peak performance organization, preferably a tech startup, will be preferred.
• Partake in clear, concise, and effective written and verbal communication
• English language proficiency, both written and verbal, sufficient for success in a remote and largely asynchronous work environment
