Engineering Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager with expertise in the Java ecosystem to lead a team of software engineers in building scalable, high-performance applications. You will play a pivotal role in architecting solutions, driving best practices, and fostering an innovation-driven engineering culture.

Roles & Responsibilities.

• Technical Leadership: Oversee the development and implementation of Java-based applications, ensuring adherence to best coding practices, security, and performance standards. • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and coach software engineers, fostering a high performance and collaborative team environment.

• Architecture & Design: Guide the team in designing scalable and maintainable software architectures.

• Agile Development: Drive Agile/Scrum methodologies to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software solutions.

• Code Reviews & Quality Assurance: Enforce clean coding principles, conduct peer reviews, and maintain high code quality standards.

• Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers, DevOps, and QA teams to align engineering efforts with business objectives.

• Technology Strategy: Evaluate new technologies and frameworks to enhance system performance, scalability, and maintainability.

• Performance Optimization: Ensure application performance tuning, monitoring, and issue resolution.

• Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear technical roadmaps and business alignment.

Qualifications & Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 3+ years in a leadership/management role.

• Strong expertise in Java (JDK 11+), Spring Boot, Hibernate, and Microservices architecture.

• Proficiency in RESTful APIs, messaging systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ), and distributed systems.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices.

• Solid knowledge of databases (SQL & NoSQL PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.).

• Strong understanding of scalability, high availability, and system performance tuning.

• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

• Experience working in Agile (Scrum/Kanban) environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in modern frontend frameworks (React/Angular) is a plus.

• Exposure to AI/ML integrations or Data Engineering pipelines.

• Experience with financial or enterprise applications is an advantage.

• Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in tech communities.
