Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced NOC Manager Technical Lead with a strong operational focus. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the comprehensive monitoring, reporting, and management of our global IT infrastructure. This position emphasizes real-time monitoring, anomaly detection, incident ticket management, and detailed performance reporting to ensure high system availability and rapid resolution of issues. Candidates with a predominantly architectural background are encouraged to consider this opportunity if they have the operational expertise required to manage day-to-day network performance and incident response.


Key Responsibilities


Operational Monitoring & Reporting

  • Real-Time Infrastructure Monitoring:
    Oversee the continuous monitoring of network environments, including Cisco routers/switches, Aruba Wireless, Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls, Velocloud SD-WAN, and VMware NSX.
  • Performance Reporting:
    Develop and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly reports that detail network performance, incident trends, uptime statistics, and system health. Identify and document anomalies and potential issues.
  • Dashboard Management:
    Leverage observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, ELK Stack, Grafana, Prometheus) to maintain visibility into operational metrics and system performance.

Incident & Ticket Management

  • Ticket Oversight:
    Manage the incident ticketing system to ensure that all tickets are logged, prioritized, and resolved within established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Incident Resolution:
    Lead incident escalation procedures and coordinate with technical teams to diagnose and resolve issues, aiming to reduce Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR).
  • Documentation:
    Maintain detailed records of incidents and resolutions to support continuous improvement initiatives and build a comprehensive knowledge base.

Team Coordination & Process Optimization

  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with NOC engineers, security analysts, and IT operations teams to ensure clear communication and efficient resolution of network issues.
  • Process Improvement:
    Analyze operational data to recommend and implement process improvements that enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Mentorship & Training:
    Provide guidance and training to team members on best practices for monitoring, reporting, and incident management.

Compliance & SLA Adherence

  • Operational Excellence:
    Ensure compliance with internal SLAs and industry best practices for network performance, security, and incident management.
  • Executive Reporting:
    Prepare and present performance reports and operational insights to executive stakeholders, highlighting trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Experience:
    A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in NOC/SOC operations, IT infrastructure management, or network security with a demonstrated focus on operational monitoring and ticket management.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Proficiency with networking technologies such as Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, Fortinet, Velocloud, and VMware NSX.
    • Experience with load balancers (F5 BIG-IP, Azure Load Balancer) and observability tools (Splunk, Datadog, ELK Stack, Grafana, Prometheus).
    • Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve incidents via established ticketing systems.

    • Process & Incident Management:
      Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and practical experience in incident management, ensuring prompt and effective issue resolution.

Preferred Certifications

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or Fortinet NSE4+
  • F5 Certified Technology Specialist (F5-CTS) BIG-IP LTM
  • Azure Certified Networking & Security Specialization
  • ITIL Foundation Certification

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Incident Resolution Efficiency:
    Achieve a reduced Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR) through effective ticket management and rapid incident resolution.
  • Network Uptime:
    Maintain a system uptime of 99.9%+ by leveraging proactive monitoring and prompt anomaly detection.
  • Reporting Accuracy & Timeliness:
    Deliver precise and timely operational reports that provide actionable insights and highlight performance trends.
  • Ticket Management Effectiveness:
    Achieve high first-call resolution rates and maintain minimal ticket backlog through effective oversight
