We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Curriculum Development Officer to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and evaluating curricula across various grade levels and subjects. This role requires collaboration with educators, administrators, and external stakeholders to ensure that the curriculum meets the needs of all students, adheres to national and international standards, and supports the vision of the school. The Curriculum Development Officer will also oversee the continuous review and improvement of curricular programs and ensure their alignment with current educational best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Design Development:
Lead the development, design, and review of curricula for all grade levels and subject areas, ensuring alignment with school goals, educational standards, and pedagogical best practices.
Ensure that the curriculum is inclusive, differentiated, and caters to diverse student needs and learning styles.
Develop and implement new courses or educational programs as necessary to address emerging trends and student needs.
Work with subject-specific departments and faculty to ensure curriculum coherence and vertical alignment across grade levels.
Curriculum Review Evaluation:
Regularly assess and review existing curricula to identify areas for improvement or adjustment.
Incorporate feedback from teachers, students, and external stakeholders (such as parents and educational bodies) to refine the curriculum.
Evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum implementation through student performance, teacher feedback, and external assessments.
Ensure the curriculum is current, relevant, and innovative by integrating new technologies, resources, and pedagogical approaches.
Collaboration Support:
Work closely with department heads, teachers, and academic leaders to ensure effective curriculum delivery and integration across subject areas.
Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for teachers, helping them to implement the curriculum effectively and with fidelity.
Serve as a resource for faculty regarding curriculum-related issues, including instructional strategies, assessments, and differentiation.
Assessment Reporting:
Develop assessment frameworks and tools that align with the curriculum and measure the desired learning outcomes.
Ensure the alignment of formative and summative assessments with the curriculum s objectives.
Regularly report to school leadership on curriculum progress, effectiveness, and areas requiring attention.
External Engagement Accreditation:
Ensure that the curriculum meets local, national, and international educational standards, including any necessary accreditations.
Keep abreast of current trends, research, and innovations in curriculum development and education.
Represent the school at curriculum-related conferences, workshops, and professional development sessions as needed.
Curriculum Documentation Resources:
Prepare and maintain clear documentation of the curriculum, including syllabus, course materials, scope and sequence, and teaching guidelines.
Support teachers in sourcing and implementing appropriate teaching resources and materials aligned with the curriculum.
Requirements
Qualifications Skills:
Education:
A Master s degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field. Certification or training in curriculum design is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in curriculum design or development, preferably within a school or educational institution.
Skills Knowledge:
Strong understanding of curriculum design models, educational frameworks, and instructional strategies.
Experience with accreditation processes and aligning curriculum to educational standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with various stakeholders.
Proficient in the use of educational technology and digital resources to support curriculum delivery.
Analytical skills to evaluate and assess the effectiveness of curriculum and instruction.
