Job Description

As a Senior Scientific Computing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our digital transformation journey

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining scientific computing applications, managing high-performance computing (HPC) environments, and supporting the integration of AI technologies within our RD processes

Your expertise in Python, HPC, and networking will be essential in driving our digitalization agenda forward

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Python applications and scripts to support scientific computing and data analysis

Manage and optimize MongoDB databases for efficient data storage and retrieval

Utilize Docker for containerization and deployment of applications

Administer and maintain Linux-based systems to ensure high availability and performance

Use Git for version control and collaboration with the development team

Manage HPC environments using Slurm for job scheduling and MPI for networking

Implement and manage Ansible for configuration management and automation

Ensure robust networking infrastructure to support HPC and AI workloads

Develop and maintain Bash scripts for automation and system management

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including those based in Denmark, to support the digitalization of RD

Stay updated with the latest advancements in scientific computing, AI, and related technologies

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field

Minimum of 5 years of experience in Linux system administration

At least 5 years of experience with MPI/HPC networking

5 years of experience with Ansible for configuration management

5 years of experience in networking

4 years of experience in Python scripting

4 years of experience with Git for version control

3 years of experience in Python application development

3 years of experience with Docker for containerization

3 years of experience with Slurm or other HPC queuing systems

3 years of experience with Bash scripting

2 years of experience with MongoDB

Strong understanding of scientific computing and AI technologies

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with remote teams

Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of Topsoe's business areas, particularly in engineering or chemistry

Experience in digitalization projects within RD environments

Background in physics or related scientific disciplines
