Project Director Civil

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Oversight:
• Lead and manage the planning, design, and construction of a commercial high-rise building (30+ floors) from initiation to completion.
• Ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and meets quality and safety standards.
2. Planning and Execution:
• Develop detailed project plans, work schedules, and resource allocation frameworks.
• Monitor progress against project milestones and resolve bottlenecks effectively.
3. Budget Management:
• Prepare, review, and manage the project budget.
• Implement cost control measures to prevent overruns while maintaining quality.
4. Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure strict adherence to Chennai building codes, environmental guidelines, and other statutory regulations.
• Coordinate with local authorities to obtain permits and approvals.
5. Stakeholder Communication:
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, investors, consultants, and contractors.
• Provide periodic updates and progress reports to all stakeholders.
6. Risk Assessment and Management:
• Identify risks related to construction, finances, and scheduling, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Address challenges or conflicts promptly to minimize project disruptions.
7. Quality and Safety Assurance:
• Establish and enforce quality control and safety measures.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality and safety protocols.
8. Team Leadership:
• Recruit, train, and mentor project managers, engineers, and other team members.
• Foster a collaborative and performance-driven culture within the team.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Educational Qualification:
• Bachelors/Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 20 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 15 years in high-rise building projects (commercial preferred).
• Demonstrated success in delivering large-scale projects in Chennai or similar urban environments.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in project management tools like Primavera, MS Project, or similar platforms.
• Strong understanding of high-rise construction methodologies, contracts, and tendering processes.
• Soft Skills:
• Leadership and team management abilities.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive decision-making and adaptability to changing project demands.
