About TCIS (Terwilliger Centre For Innovation In Shelter)

The Terwilliger Center for Innovation in Shelter, a unit of Habitat for Humanity International, works to expand low-income families' access innovative housing products, services and financing. They work with actors throughout the housing ecosystem, including financial institutions, manufacturers and retailers, academic and vocational institutions, public sector agencies, civil society organizations, contractors and designers and media companies.

In collaboration with these partners, the Terwilliger Center identifies disruptive technologies, develops innovative models and works to move new solutions along the catalytic path.

Reason for the hire:

Habitat for Humanity India is look to hire a Senior Specialist to lead and support housing market systems programming across India. This role involves collaborating with private sector firms, public officials, civil society, and communities to develop scalable affordable housing solutions. The incumbent will manage partnerships, facilitate initiatives, and oversee project delivery, monitoring, and evaluation. With a focus on innovation and sustainable growth, the Senior Specialist will play a key role in driving Habitat's mission of ensuring that everyone has a decent place to live, while contributing to the expansion and long-term success of the Terwilliger Center's initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Leads the housing market systems work in India, identifying and soliciting initiatives from various market actors in the housing value chain, building relationships and supporting facilitation activities.

- Provides project management on the delivery of market research and facilitation activities with private sector firms.

- Liaise with potential partners such as financial institutions, government agencies, construction companies, materials suppliers, etc. provides technical inputs on various products and services in the housing value chain.

- Assists in technical/commercial feasibility of various proposals and in structuring agreements with market actors.

- Leads monitoring and evaluation of the initiatives. Ensures data is periodically captured and analyzed, prepares reports. Facilitates internal learning activities based on feedback from the programs.

- Assists the country lead and sector lead in the research, strategy and planning of housing market systems program in India.

- Represents Habitat and TCIS as needed in industry gatherings and conferences as needed.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or related field. MBA is a plus OR equivalent experience (if applicable)
