Site Statutory Compliance Officer

Role & responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with all legal and statutory requirements at the site.
• Proactively conduct monthly/quarterly audits to identify and address potential non-compliance.
• Handle application, renewal, and amendments of required licenses, ensuring timely processing.
• Maintain and ensure compliance in platforms such as Legatrix.
• Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure the implementation of corrective measures.
• Manage grievances and oversee disciplinary actions in line with applicable laws.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies for inspections, queries, and approvals.
• Drive the digitalization and standardization of compliance processes for efficiency and transparency.
• Organize training and awareness programs on compliance requirements for stakeholders.
• Ensure communication of updates and changes in compliance standards across teams.
• Prepare MIS reports, maintain compliance-related documentation, and track activities effectively.
• Generate regular reports on compliance status and share them with relevant stakeholders.
• Manage contractor and contract labor compliance in accordance with applicable laws.
• Oversee compliance with BOCW, CLRA, ISMW, and other labor laws.

Preferred candidate profile

• Hands-on experience with licensing processes and renewals.
• Familiarity with labor laws, including BOCW, CLRA, and ISMW.
• Experience in compliance management platforms like Legatrix.
• Proven experience in liaising with regulatory agencies and stakeholder management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Negotiation skills and ability to resolve stakeholder conflicts effectively.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple compliance activities and priorities.
• Sound understanding of risk assessment and management principles.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in statutory compliance and legal liaisoning.
• Certification in compliance management or labor law will be an added advantage.
