Calypso Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Calypso Specialist with over 7 years of experience in the finance domain, particularly in utilizing the Calypso trading platform. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial products, trade lifecycle management, and risk analysis, along with the ability to customize and extend Calypso functionalities.

Key Responsibilities
- System Implementation and Migration: Lead the migration of custom source code across different versions of Calypso (e.g., from V11 to V14) and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
- Customization and Development: Customize Calypso APIs and develop new functionalities to meet specific business requirements. This includes setting up scheduled tasks, reports, and accounting processes.
- Risk Management: Collaborate with middle and front office teams to configure risk reporting tools, conduct sensitivity analyses, and validate risk measures.
- Project Management: Oversee full lifecycle project management for Calypso implementations, ensuring adherence to best practices and governance frameworks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates on project status, and ensure successful project delivery.
- Technical Support: Provide ongoing support for Calypso users, including troubleshooting issues and enhancing system performance.
- Documentation: Create detailed documentation for project deliverables, including Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and user guides.

Required Skills
- Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with the Calypso FX trading platform, including knowledge of market data management, trade lifecycle processes, P&L calculations, confirmations, and reporting.
- Programming Skills: Strong background in Java/J2EE development with hands-on experience in customizing Calypso functionalities.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess complex financial scenarios and implement effective solutions.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Project Management: Proven track record in managing projects within the capital markets domain; familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus.

Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience working with Calypso or similar trading platforms in the financial services industry.
- Experience in risk management, trade settlement processes, and financial product knowledge across multiple asset classes.

Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master).
- Familiarity with SQL databases and ability to write basic queries.
