Sr Manager -Metal Raw Material and Castings & Forgings

Role & responsibilities

Candidate will be:

• Handling approx.600 Cr of Annual spend, which is forecasted to reach 2000 Cr in next 4 years
• Have complete Ownership of Rolled Aluminium & Steel RM and Ferrous and non-ferrous Castings and Forgings like Cost reduction Targets, Supplier Strategy etc.
• Working Closely with the Business Unit CFTs (Purchase and relevant technical Teams) for various Purchasing initiatives: Cost Reduction, Supplier Negotiation, Consolidation etc
• Responsible for Cost Benchmarking for Rolled Aluminium & Steel Raw Material and Ferrous and non-ferrous castings and Forgings Commodity
• Driving Cost reduction initiatives across Tata Autocomp Group
• Preparing Sourcing strategy for Rolled Aluminium & Steel RM and Ferrous and non-Ferrous castings and Forgings Commodity to have sustainable supplier base, keeping in mind present and future technologies
• Decide and monitor the Share of Business among suppliers of Rolled Aluminium Suppliers and Steel Raw Material Suppliers through CFT
• Responsible for Long term contracts with Strategic suppliers including steel Mills &Rolled Alum RM Suppliers
• Providing periodic updates to the Senior management about the progress on set targets, market and industry commodity trends etc
• Leading Supplier Optimization / Consolidation in terms of Grow Fix and Exit Strategy
• Responsible for Sourcing decision on Ferrous and Non Ferrous Castings and Forgings, supplier strategy etc
• Travelling locally within Pune and across India for BU Plant Locations, Suppliers locations etc

Required Competencies: Knowledge and Skills (Functional Only)

• Personality Agile and Adaptive, Good interpersonal, analytical, Negotiation and Communication skills. Should be Innovative and Strategic in approach.
• Good Understanding of Automotive industry
• Experience in handling strategic Sourcing of Rolled Aluminium Raw Material, Steel Raw Material, Pressed Components, Pressed Tools, Fabricated Parts
• Experience in applying VA / VE and other Cost reduction tools for optimization of Cost in Rolled Aluminium & Steel Raw Material, Pressed and Fabricated parts and in Ferrous and nonferrous castings and forgings
• Good knowledge of Grades of steel and Sources for various Grades of Steel and Rolled Aluminum ,Steel Parts manufacturing process, Fabricated Parts, Steel Parts tooling, various surface coatings for steel Parts
• Part Should costing, Cost drivers, Commodity trends and Knowledge of Cost reduction levers
• Domestic and Global Supplier base specific to above commodities
• Supplier assessment and Supplier onboarding process
• Excel and other analytic tools and PowerPoint presentations
• Techno commercial knowledge of Metal Commodity
• Hands on experience of supply chain, capacity planning and in meeting volume ramp up.

Experience:

• B.E.(Mech) / B.E. (Auto) /BE (Production) and Post-Graduation Diploma or Degree in Materials Management
• Experience: 12+ years in the Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing
• Experience Experience in the Sourcing of Rolled Aluminum RM, Steel Raw Material, Steel Pressed and Fabricated Parts, Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Castings and Forgings
• Preference of person having experience in Auto Industry
