Job Summary:
A leading in the plywood and building materials industry, is seeking an experienced and strategic National Sales Manager (NSM) for its Panels segment.
Based in Kolkata, the NSM will lead channel sales operations across India, driving revenue growth and strengthening the company's market position. The ideal candidate will bring 15-20 years of experience in channel sales, a strong background in the plywood or building materials industry, and an MBA from a premier B-School.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales Strategy & Growth:
- Formulate and execute national sales strategies to achieve revenue, market share, and profitability goals for the Panels segment.
- Explore and develop new market opportunities to expand the company's footprint.
2. Channel Development:
- Build and enhance a robust network of distributors, dealers, and channel partners nationwide.
- Ensure strong channel engagement through regular training, support, and incentive programs to drive partner performance.
3. Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales team to meet organizational objectives.
- Define clear performance metrics and provide regular feedback to improve productivity.
4. Market Intelligence:
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to refine sales and marketing strategies.
- Provide actionable insights to the product development and marketing teams to align offerings with market demands.
5. Operational Excellence:
- Oversee sales forecasting, budgeting, and reporting to ensure accurate and timely decision-making.
- Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to ensure timely delivery and inventory management.
6. Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with senior leadership to align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
- Partner with marketing teams to design campaigns and promotional activities that drive brand visibility and sales.
Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Educational Background: MBA from a premier B-School is mandatory.
- Experience: 15-20 years of channel sales experience, preferably in the plywood or building materials industry.
- Market Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the Panels and Plywood market, with expertise in channel dynamics and customer needs.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire a geographically dispersed sales team.
- Strategic Acumen: Strong capability in developing and executing growth-oriented sales plans.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in sales forecasting, data analysis, and CRM tools.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively across India.
