Designation Manager - Production & Distribution
Work Location: Jejuri, ahead of Pune, Maharashtra
Onsite Full-time position.
CTC : 26 Lacs + for deserving candidates
Position Overview:
The Production Manager will oversee the production process within an Industrial/Automotive paint manufacturing facility and report to the Plant Head as the second line in command. This role is responsible for managing daily production and operations, on-time delivery, ensuring quality standards, optimizing efficiency, and supervising the overall production of Industrial paint. The manager will work closely with other departments, such as R&D, Quality control, and Supply Chain and logistics, to ensure products meet customer specifications and industry standards and are delivered promptly.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Planning & Coordination:
Develop and implement production planning and schedules to ensure on-time delivery of Industrial paint products to OEMs.
Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as necessary to meet customer demand and optimize resource utilization, keeping the cost of production within the optimum level
Coordinate with the supply chain and procurement teams to ensure the availability of raw materials, packing materials, and components for production with effective coordination with the Head Office Supply Chain & Logistics department.
2. Health, Safety, and Environmental Management:
Enforce health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
Ensure the plant adheres to environmental regulations, including the handling and disposal of chemicals and waste materials.
Investigate and report on any workplace incidents or accidents, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
3. Quality Control & Compliance:
Ensure all products meet strict Industrial industry quality standards and customer specifications.
Oversee the implementation of quality control procedures to detect defects and ensure consistent product quality.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental laws, and industry standards, including handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
4. Process Improvement & Cost Optimization:
Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency (e.g., reducing waste, improving yield).
Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance productivity.
Analyze production data to identify trends and implement corrective actions to optimize production processes.
5. Maintenance & Equipment Management:
Ensure production equipment is properly maintained and operating at peak efficiency.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and monitor routine and preventative maintenance activities.
Oversee troubleshooting and repair of machinery when necessary to avoid production downtime.
6. Team Leadership & Management:
Lead, train, and motivate the production team, fostering a high-performance, safety-conscious, collaborative environment.
Manage a team of production operators, supervisors, and technicians, ensuring proper staffing levels and skill development.
Conducted performance reviews, provided feedback, and implemented development plans for team members.
7. Budgeting & Reporting:
Prepare and manage the production budget, ensuring adherence to financial goals and minimizing operational costs.
Provide regular reports to upper management on production performance, challenges, and key metrics (e.g., production volume, downtime, quality issues).
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure continuous improvement towards operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in chemical engineering or related studies
15 years of Experience in production management roles in the Industrial Paints or Chemical manufacturing industries, preferably in the Automotive Paint, Coatings paint industry
Strong knowledge of Industrial paint formulation, production techniques, and quality standards
Experience with managing large teams and overseeing multi-step manufacturing processes
Strong understanding of Industrial Relations and Factory Compliances
Competencies:
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Proficiency in production management software and tools (ERP systems, scheduling software, etc.).
Solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
