As a Backend Lead Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the technical vision and execution of our product development team. You will lead a team of talented engineers, mentor their growth, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
Responsibilities :
Technical Leadership :
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team backend engineers.
- Mentor and develop engineers to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define product requirements and technical solutions.
Development :
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend applications.
- Optimize application performance and scalability for large-scale deployment
- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code that adheres to best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in web development.
Project Management :
- Lead and manage software development projects from inception to deployment.
- Estimate project timelines, assign tasks, and track progress.
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
Problem-Solving :
- Identify and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
Architecture Design :
- Design and implement scalable and maintainable software architectures.
- Ensure the security, performance, and reliability of our systems.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in backend software development.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
- Strong proficiency in backend technologies (Python, Node.js, Java).
- Experience with GCP and deployment at scale.
- Familiarity with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Contributions to open-source projects.
- Experience in any oil and natural gas organization is a plus
Non-Technical/ Behavioral competencies required :
- Must have worked with large customers in Middle East Region particularly Saudi Arabia
- Written communication, technical articulation, listening and presentation skills (8/10 minimum)
- Should have good conflict management
- Should have superior persuasive and negotiation skills
- Should have demonstrated effective task prioritization, time management and internal/external stakeholder management skills
- Should be a quick learner, self starter, go-getter and team player
- Should have experience of working under stringent deadlines in a Matrix organization structure
- Should have demonstrated appreciable Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) in past organizations
