Senior Accountant(Botswana) - Audit

Role:

The primary responsibilities of the successful candidates will be to ensure task and role based deliverables are achieved with highest quality and timeliness as well maintaining collaboration and communication with the PKF Botswana team.

This role is a full-time office-based position, and the successful candidate will be expected to set up an office based offshore team for PKF Botswana. This is a great opportunity for a career orientated person to set up and manage an offshore business unit for a Global Mid-Tier Accounting Practice.

Specific Technical Skills:

• Qualified/ Semi Qualified CA/ Any relevant degree with accounting background.
• At least 6 years of Statutory Audit experience with a Chartered Accounting Firm.
• Experience of leading audit engagements independently from planning to completion.
• Established knowledge of their methods, approaches, and frameworks.
• Expertise in preparing financial statements, audit file and workpapers for multiple clients.
• Exposure to African companies preferable but not essential.
• Have the drive to build a high-performance team.
• Experience in working directly with clients and stakeholders.
• Good English and communication skills, both written and verbal, and understand the importance of managing partner and client expectations.
• The ability to manage and prioritize workflow accordingly.
• Exposure to management responsibilities and mentoring of staff.
• CaseWare Audit and Accounts Preparation experience and working knowledge preferred but not essential.

• Delivering the highest quality auditing services to our clients.
• Collaborating as part of a team to plan engagement objectives and an audit strategy that complies with professional standards and appropriately addresses risk.
• Develop and maintain proactive working relationships with your audit team and clients, ensuring they are informed and always satisfied, not just during the audit process but throughout the year.
• Preparing and reviewing financial statements in full compliance with GAAP
• Responsibility for managing the successful completion of audit engagements.
• Acting as an approved mentor to junior audit team members.
