What is the key purpose of a Advertiser Risk and Analysis Team Lead?

As a Advertiser Risk and Analysis Team Lead, you will lead a team of analysts to detect and prevent fraudulent activities within the advertising ecosystem. You’ll monitor team operations, analyze advertising data, investigate suspicious incidents, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective fraud prevention strategies. Your role is critical in ensuring the integrity of Taboola’s platform by identifying fraudulent patterns, managing team SLAs, and utilizing various tools and technologies. Additionally, you will play a key role in growing and improving the team's capabilities, maintaining the trust of advertisers, and ensuring the quality and accuracy of Taboola’s advertising services.

What skills and qualifications do I need?

For this role, it is essential that you have:

• 2+ years of experience in programming with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
• 2+ years of experience leading a team.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to approach complex fraud cases with logical thinking and structured strategies.
• Proficiency in database management and advanced SQL (experience with databases is a plus).
• Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to lead and collaborate effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent English, with the ability to communicate daily with international teams.
• Fast learning capabilities and a proven ability to multitask on multiple projects simultaneously.
• A data-driven approach with the ability to use tools and trends to identify opportunities, recommend actions, and improve performance.

It would be great if you also have:

• Knowledge of Machine Learning Models, including creating, building, and maintaining models and ETLs.
• A BA/BS in finance, statistics, or quantitative economics.
• Previous experience in a fraud detection or related role within the online advertising industry.
• Familiarity with industry-standard fraud prevention tools, such as fraud detection platforms or monitoring systems.
• Experience with Salesforce, Jira, or BI systems (e.g., Tableau, QlikSense) is a plus.

What will I be doing on a day-to-day basis?

As a Advertiser Risk and Analysis Team Lead, you will:

• Fraud detection and investigation: Support your team in utilizing fraud detection tools to identify and investigate fraudulent activities such as cloaking. Use your web debugging experience to examine patterns and sources, gather evidence, and identify potential fraud.
• Data analysis: Lead the team in performing data analysis on advertising data to detect anomalies and trends related to malvertising, cloaking, and billing incidents. Present findings to management and recommend actions for remediation or improvement.
• Collaboration and communication: Work closely with internal teams (e.g., account managers, sales, operations) to address fraud-related issues. Partner with cross-functional teams such as data scientists and engineers to implement fraud prevention strategies.
• Reporting and insights: Generate regular reports on fraud incidents and trends. Provide insights to management and stakeholders to optimize fraud prevention measures and inform strategic decisions.
• Fraud prevention measures: Implement tools, real-time alerts, and automated systems to proactively identify and prevent fraud. Monitor campaigns and maintain fraud prevention measures to ensure platform integrity.
• Industry knowledge and research: Stay up-to-date with emerging fraud detection techniques, industry trends, and technologies. Research and implement new fraud detection tools to enhance Taboola’s prevention capabilities.
