About Allivet Pet Pharmacy

Allivet, a leading ecommerce retailer of pet medicine and supplies, is looking for an Azure Architect to join our growing team. As an Azure Architect, you will be part of a team responsible for working on all aspects of Allivet Azure Cloud initiatives. You will report to the Infrastructure Manager and work closely with the other members of the IT Team: Director of Engineering, Director of IT Project Management, DBA, DevOps Engineer, and Security Analyst.

What you will do:
- Architect, implement and manage Azure cloud services - app services, functions, compute engine/VM instances, service bus, Kubernetes as service, managed container as service, databases, storage, Redis cache, networking, IAM
- Own Azure Cloud Security - logging, monitoring, cloud native and 3rd party, SIEM, WAF, container security, Azure security center
- Gather data to understand the health of the environment and enable data-driven decisions
- Support the tools and effort to monitor, measure, and maintain system reliability and scalability
- Help implement and manage continuous delivery systems (CI/CD) and methodologies with Azure DevOps
- Maintain our SOC2 type 2 report ensuring policies, controls and evidences are updated per a schedule defined in our InfoSec Management platform
- Implement compliance policies and controls (SOC2, PCI, CCPA)
- Discover Define SLA/SLO/SLI and identify systems KPIs.
- Analyze and improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability of our systems
- Maintain high platform performance levels, maximum uptime and the overall integrity of production systems
- Streamline and continually improve operations through monitoring, support and diagnostic tools and scripts

Experience:
Must:
- Cloud Computing: Azure - 8+ years
including VMs, Web Apps, Vnet, Load Balancer, Redis Cache, Azure Service Bus, Azure Scripting CLI, VPN AnyConnect, SQLMI, Synapse, Blob storage
- DevOps Architecture: 5+ years
- SRE Process Building: 5+ years
- Logging: Splunk - 5+ years
- Hands-on experience with microservices and distributed application architecture - 8+ years
- Azure Security
- Compliance Framework: SOC2, IS027001, NIST, PCI
- APM: Dynatrace, New Relic, App Dynamics, DataDog to analyze application performance
- Understanding of various types of proactive monitoring needs of production systems including infrastructure monitoring, synthetic monitoring application performance monitoring
- Understanding of SLIs, SLOs and SLAs from the service level to the business level

- Cloud Computing: AWS, GCP
- Reliability Metrics: Grafana, Prometheus
- Tracing: Jaeger, OpenTracing, OpenCensus
- Alerts: Pingdom
- Performance/Load Testing: Gatling, JMeter, BlazeMeter.
- Puppet, Ansible, Chef, Salt or other configuration management system experience
- Leverage Docker and applicable orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
- Agile methodologies such as Scrum with focus on Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD)
- Good understanding of data architecture concepts
- Documentation (Confluence)
- Project Management Tool (Jira)
- Excellent planning and communication skills
- Team player with willingness to collaborate

Education:
- B.S in Computer Science or Equivalent work experience
- Minimum 10+ years of Professional Experience
