Quality Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inward Material Inspection & Report Preparation:
• Conduct thorough inspections of all incoming materials.
• Verify the quality and specifications of the materials as per the required standards.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and record any discrepancies or non-conformities.
2. Stage-Wise Inspection:
• Perform inspections at various stages of production:
• Fabrication: Verify compliance with design specifications, and check for defects.
• Buffing: Inspect the finishing process and ensure smoothness and quality.
• Deforming: Check for accuracy and consistency in shapes and forms.
• Assembly: Ensure correct assembly procedures and proper fitting of parts.
3. Packing List Verification:
• Check and verify the packing list to ensure that all components and materials are correctly documented.
• Cross-check the quantities and specifications with the actual shipment.
4. Pre-Dispatch Document Preparation:
• Review and prepare all necessary documentation for pre-dispatch activities.
• Ensure that all documents, including certificates, approvals, and compliance records, are completed accurately.
5. Dimension/Variance Checking:
• Measure and verify the dimensions of products to ensure they conform to the design specifications.
• Identify any variances and suggest corrective actions as needed.
6. Visual Welding Inspection:
• Perform visual inspections of welds to ensure they meet the quality standards.
• Identify potential issues such as poor weld quality, improper techniques, or material inconsistencies.
• Investigate and determine the root causes of welding issues and suggest solutions for improvement.
7. Problem Identification & Root Cause Analysis:
• Investigate any defects or deviations from quality standards.
• Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues.
• Collaborate with production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions.
8. Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, test results, and quality checks.
• Prepare regular quality reports for management, highlighting any non-conformities, corrective actions, and improvements.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 2-3 years in a quality control role, preferably in manufacturing or production environments.
• Knowledge of quality standards, inspection techniques, and relevant tools.
• High level of accuracy in inspections and documentation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze complex problems and implement effective solutions.
• Any relevant quality control certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, ISO standards) would be an advantage.
