Apprentice - Diploma (Chemical Engineering)

HLE Glascoat Ltd is looking to hire an Apprentice for the R&D Department at its Anand location.

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Chemical Engineering Apprentice to join our team for a 1-year apprenticeship. The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Chemical Engineering and will be responsible for supporting the preparation, testing, and analysis of various materials and samples in accordance with industry standards. This apprenticeship offers hands-on training in a fast-paced environment, allowing you to develop expertise in materials testing and laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Sample Preparation:

• Spray and prepare test specimens for various corrosion tests, including acid corrosion, alkali corrosion, and QC samples.
• Prepare and bake samples, ensuring proper handling for heat simulation and furnace operations.
• Assist in the heating and thermal treatment of samples as part of the preparation process.

Testing & Analysis:

• Conduct routine and specialized tests on glass batches, including but not limited to:
• Acid corrosion tests
• Alkali corrosion tests
• Flow tests
• Dolly tests
• Impact tests
• Record and document test results, ensuring accurate data entry for quality assurance.

Furnace & Heat Simulation Operations:

• Operate and monitor furnace equipment during heat simulation processes.
• Ensure proper temperature control and safety protocols are followed during the heating of samples.

Quality Control:

• Follow established procedures for testing and ensuring the quality and integrity of materials.
• Work closely with senior engineers to ensure accurate test results and help troubleshoot any issues that arise.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of testing procedures, results, and any observations related to the performance of test specimens.
• Report on findings in a clear and concise manner, including any necessary adjustments or recommendations.

Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to all safety protocols and company standards to maintain a safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards in the preparation and testing of samples.

Qualifications:

• A Diploma in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Basic understanding of chemical testing methods and materials science.
• Interest in gaining hands-on experience in laboratory and furnace operations.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures accurately.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
