Way of working - Office/Field : Employees will work full time from their office base location in Bangalore
To support Category Buying Managers in executing procurement activities, managing vendor interactions, tracking purchase orders, and ensuring smooth supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in buying, sourcing, vendor coordination, and inventory management , preferably in FMCG, retail, e-commerce, or food procurement .
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement Support
Assist Category Buying Managers in executing procurement strategies and day-to-day buying activities.
Raise and track purchase orders (POs) , ensuring timely approvals and execution.
Coordinate with vendors for order confirmations, delivery schedules, and issue resolution .
Monitor and update pricing, MOQ, and contract terms in the procurement system.
2. Vendor Coordination & Relationship Management
Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and resolve discrepancies .
Track vendor performance based on delivery timelines, quality, and service levels.
Support in onboarding new suppliers and maintaining vendor documentation.
3. Market & Price Analysis
Monitor market trends, raw material price fluctuations, and competitor pricing .
Collect and analyze supplier quotations for cost benchmarking .
Support in data analysis and reports for price negotiations and category planning.
4. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination
Work closely with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure timely stock replenishment .
Assist in inventory tracking to avoid stockouts or overstock situations.
Support in demand forecasting and align procurement with sales requirements .
5. Data Management & Reporting
Maintain accurate procurement records, including pricing, contracts, and supplier details .
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on procurement metrics, order status, and supplier performance.
Support in cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Graduate in Commerce, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related fields .
Experience: 1-3 years in buying, procurement, or category support roles in FMCG, retail, or e-commerce.
Knowledge of purchase order processes, vendor management, and supply chain operations .
Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.), and data analysis .
Strong communication and coordination skills to manage internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment .
Preferred Background:
Experience in handling FMCG, food, or packaging categories .
Exposure to negotiations, cost analysis, and category buying .
Understanding of procurement compliance and supplier onboarding processes .
