Position Overview:

The Infra Migration Engineer will specialize in designing, planning, and executing complex migration projects involving on-premises to on-premises, on-premises to cloud, and cloud-to-cloud environments. This role requires expertise in infrastructure systems, data migration strategies, and modern cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful migrations while ensuring system reliability, data integrity, and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan, design, and execute migration strategies for on-premises to on-premises and cloud-based environments.

Perform infrastructure assessments to identify dependencies and prepare systems for migration.

Having good knowledge of troubleshooting migration related issues. Application, Database and Server Migrations.

Develop and execute migration paths for virtual machines, databases, storage systems, and applications.

Leverage migration tools (e.g., VMware vMotion, Azure Migrate, AWS Migration Hub) for seamless transitions.

Ensure minimal disruption and downtime during migrations through careful planning and testing.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define migration requirements and success criteria.

Implement and validate data transfer mechanisms to ensure data integrity and security.

Develop scripts and automation processes to optimize migration workflows.

Provide post-migration support and fine-tuning for migrated environments.

Document migration processes, configurations, and lessons learned for future reference.

Required Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years focused on on-premises and cloud migration projects.

Extensive experience in on-premises infrastructure, including VMware, Hyper-V, and physical server migrations.

Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and associated migration tools.

Strong understanding of networking, storage systems, and database migration strategies.

Experience with hybrid migration models, including data center consolidations.

Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Ansible).

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues during migrations.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or VMware

Certified Professional are highly desirable.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with large-scale data center migrations involving physical and virtual servers.

- Knowledge of SAN, NAS, and other enterprise storage technologies.

- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and their migration.

- Understanding of disaster recovery strategies and tools for migration purposes.

- Experience with data governance and compliance frameworks during migrations.
