Product Software Function Test Engineer

Role Description

Software Functional Test Engineer responsible for testing of Charging Station Software that covers all aspects of Customer UX, Battery management system, Battery Thermal Management & Chargers, Health Monitoring & Safety, Metrics Collection and Localized Edge Analytics. Additional responsibilities include testing of station and interfacing cloud using standardized IoT protocols/ APIs/CAN/WIFI/Blutooth, Cloud and creating test documentation for release management.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive DV/DVVP/test plans and test cases based on product software. functional validation requirements and specifications.
• Execute various types of testing, including functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and usability testing conspiring the all scenario for product as well as SW.
• Proficiency in automation & languages like; JAVA, Python, C, C+, CAPL scripting
• Identify, document, and prioritize defects and issues found during testing, utilizing bug-tracking systems.
• Work closely with development teams to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve reported issues.
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to ensure alignment between testing efforts and business goals.
• Participate in requirement analysis and design reviews to provide input on testability, usability, and performance considerations.
• Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and advancements in software testing techniques.
• Communicate test results and findings to relevant stakeholders clearly and concisely.
• Contribute to the overall quality assurance strategy and participate in team discussions to drive quality improvements.

Preffered Skills

• 5+ years - experience in Product software functional testing methodologies, tools.
• Understanding of automotive EV system like BMS, Charger, Station SW, control units.
• Strong understanding of communication like CAN, Bluetooth , Wi-Fi, Cloud verification.
• Hand on experience to validate the SW, functionalities, strategies, architecture in deep level.
• Good knowledge about the languages used for SW like; JAVA, Python, C,C+.
• Experience to validate the SW independently with or without product.
• Understanding of electrical/electronics hardware controllers used in automotive industry
• System parameter, logics, signals, fault code, alarms simulation, data analysis.
• Hands on experience on multiple control units data mapping & configuration.
• Hands on experiences on low/high voltage DC & AC systems in automotive industry.
• Proficiency in debugging, issue finding, route cause analysis at SW & hardware level.
• Understanding of Automotive software development lifecycle (SDLC)
• Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools required for SW functional validation.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently & collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with team members and stakeholders.
