Senior Software Tester

Roles & responsibilities:

• Test Planning and Strategy:

Develop and execute comprehensive test plans based on project requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project specifications and contribute to test strategy development.

• Test Case Design and Execution:

Create detailed and well-structured test cases based on functional and technical specifications.

Execute test cases and document results, ensuring the identification and timely resolution of defects.

• .Defect Tracking and Reporting:

Identify, log, and prioritize defects accurately using defect tracking tools.

Collaborate with development teams to facilitate timely resolution of reported issues.

• Regression Testing:

Perform regression testing to ensure the stability of existing functionalities after code changes.

Develop and maintain automated regression test suites where applicable.

• Performance and Load Testing:

Conduct performance and load testing to assess software stability and identify potential bottlenecks.

Analyze test results and collaborate with the development team to optimize performance.

• Collaboration:

Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand system requirements.

Participate in regular team meetings to discuss project progress, issues, and testing updates.

• Test Documentation:

Create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test summary reports.

Ensure documentation is up-to-date and aligned with project changes.

• Continuous Improvement:

Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement within the testing cycle.

Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging testing tools and technologies.

• Communication:

Communicate effectively with team members and project stakeholders, providing regular updates on testing progress and any identified risks.

• Mentoring & Training:

Mentor junior testers and help in developing their skills.

Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions within the QA team on best practices, new tools, and technologies.

Preferred candidate profile :

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and testing methodologies.
• Experience in automation testing tools such as Selenium, Appium, or TestNG.
• Hands-on experience with manual testing techniques for both web and mobile applications.
• Basic programming or scripting skills (Java, Python, JavaScript) for automation script development.
• Familiarity with REST API testing tools like Postman or SoapUI.
• Experience with bug-tracking tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, or similar.
• Knowledge of SQL for database validation and testing.

Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 5-6 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on manual, automated, performance, API testing.
• Proficiency in testing methodologies, test case design, and defect tracking.
• Experience with automated testing tools ,frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Junit, playwright).
• Experience in API testing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience in JAVA/Python.
