Senior Electrical Design Engineer Electrical Engineering (EE)

Location: Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Job Summary:

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you would be responsible for to design, develop, and optimize wiring harness systems for robotics applications. The ideal candidate for this role requires strong expertise in electrical schematics, wiring routing, and harness design tools to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and reliable solutions. This position reports to the Engineering Manager of Hardware at Jio Robotics.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop wiring harnesses, schematics, and routing layouts.
• Create detailed 2D/3D harness drawings using SolidWorks or any other tools.
• Select appropriate wires, Shielding, connectors, terminals, and protective components.
• Perform circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, and EMI/EMC considerations.
• Ensure compliance with company internal and industry standards for Robotics.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electronics and manufacturing teams to integrate harnesses into systems.
• Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation.
• Support prototype builds and testing for design validation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve harness design and manufacturing issues.
• Work closely with suppliers and vendors to ensure cost-effective and high-quality harness solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

Preferred: Bachelors degree in electrical or similar Engineering field

Good to Have: Masters Degree in electrical or similar Engineering field

Experience: 3+ years in hardware engineering, with a substantial focus on automation, robotics and/or automotive.

Skills and Competencies:

Preferred:

• Proficiency in wiring harness design tools, preferably on SolidWorks.
• Strong knowledge of wiring standards, connectors, and electrical components.
• Understanding of Harness requirements for communication protocols like CAN, Ethernet, USB, RS-485 etc.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Understanding of EMI/EMC principles and electrical load analysis.

Good to Have:

• Worked on wiring harness design for integration of Sensors like Lidar, Camera etc.
• Worked on wiring harness design for integration of Harmonic Actuators.
