Position :Head Portfolio Management Crop Protection


Location:Location: Mumbai

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Responsible for e2e Crop Protection Portfolio Management for SML Group of Companies
  • Needgap analysis, strategic market segmentation & augmentation of CP Portfolio with a clear objective to drive sustainable & profitable business growth in short, mid and long term
  • Portfolio prioritization, allocation & segregation between group companies & need based rationalization to the best interest of business
  • Active role in deciding CP Portfolio pricing, keeping in mind profitability and compeititve dynamics to ensure business delivery, sustabinably
  • Creating strong competitive edge through portfolio differentiation, branding & innovative marketing campaigns and brand communication
  • Building Strategic Alliances & Collaboration for new business development or for the fulfilment of strategic intent
  • Lead cross functional teams to ensure excellent NPI (New Product Introduction) Process for mid to long term Portfolio Life cycle management
  • Fully accountable ideation, market priming, successful launch and commercialization of NPIs
  • Leading the CP Product Management team, while providing necessary support, guidance and mentoring for individual and overall productivity, with empathy and compassion for establisging a strong team spirit
  • Playing a pivotal role in product development strategy Prelaunch planning and activities, Launch new products, Work on consumer feedback, lead the team to carry out demand generation activity, work with sales to ensure conversion and End to end brand planning including crafting the brand vision & strategic objective.
  • Strategic planning and implementation of product marketing initiatives.
  • Organize and Conduct seasonal and annual Marketing plans and campaigns and drive this in the Field-based on regional / country requirements.
  • Define, Analyse, and Monitor External indicators periodically to retain competitive position and target market share in the marketplace, for key focus products in the generic segment.
  • Optimize field force effectiveness and output, through formal Induction programs, monthly training programs, and communication across the nation.
  • Develop relationships with external stakeholders including seed, food processing, and corporate farming companies to showcase and promote the growth and sales of the product portfolio.
  • Develop systems, pathways, and processes to convert demos into sales across geographies and crops and monitor the growth of the same.
  • Guide and drive key promotional campaigns for focus and brand products in the generic segment by crop by region.
  • Create and improve visibility of the company’s brands and products in customer shops, mandis, villages,
  • Manage cross function relationships with R&D/ Portfolio Team/ Packaging Team / Planning & Sourcing Team to get optimal outcomes.
  • Provide business cases for new product proposals and ensure viability and success.
  • Raise the profile of the Mother Brand and leverage everything the brand represents, including liaisoning with government bodies, universities, crop boards, etc.
  • Drive Ownership of Indian Stewardship of key flagship molecule of the company.
  • Train and develop team members with regard to domain expertise for taking up future responsibilities in the division.
  • Conduct brand management reviews/workshops for the team
  • Should have a pleasing personality & flexible attitude of working with multicultural people and creating a motivational environment for more.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualification


  • Education: MBA / PGDBM from a premier B-School or Master’s in Agriculture/Plant Pathology/Entomology from a reputed and leading agricultural university in India
  • The incumbent should have more than 15+ years of strong marketing and sales & distribution experience, preferably from the Agrochemical industry.
  • Good analytical/conceptual / logical skills / Brand Management Exposure
  • Good Market Connect / Ability to draw customer engagement plans
  • Good Emotional Quotient/ Man Management experience
  • Technically sound and strong in marketing
  • Must have proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office / SAP preferred
  • Fluent in English
  • Must have a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong desire for continued growth and learning
