Production Officer Chicken Processing

Job Summary:

The Plant Operations Officer will oversee the daily operations of the toll processing plant in Kenya. This role requires close collaboration with the Business Head to ensure efficient production, maintain high-quality standards, and adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations. The Plant Operations Officer will also head the plant, driving operational excellence and achieving business objectives.

Role & responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the toll processing plant.
• Monitor and improve production efficiency and quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with the Business Head to align plant operations with business goals.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize plant performance.
• Lead and mentor plant staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Manage inventory, supply chain, and logistics to ensure smooth operations.
• Oversee maintenance and repair of plant equipment and machinery.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Prepare and present operational reports to the Business Head.
• Develop and manage the plant's budget, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery.
• Implement and maintain health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct regular training sessions for staff on best practices, safety procedures, and equipment

handling.

• Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in processing technology to maintain a

competitive edge.

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in poultry processing or food production.
• Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role in a production environment.
